The Kirazlibent Natural Park, one of the nine natural parks within the Belgrade Forest derives its name from the water jump which was constructed during the reign of the Ottoman Sultan Mahmoud the Second in 1818 over the stream called Kirazli Dere and which is the last water jump on the Kirkcesme (forty fountains) waterway. This natural park has an area of 19.14 hectares, and contains a very rich flora and fauna. The dominant tree species within the park are oak trees and alders.
THE ACTIVITIES THAT CAN BE DONE WITHIN THE PARK AREA
The Kirazlibent Natural Park, which is located on a long and wide area with its long and and thick forest is convenient for picnicking and for daily use. Within this natural park, there is a fountain, a buffet, picnic units, a small mosque, a playground for children, and other convenient facilities and places for meeting and for various other kinds of organizations. On the paths within the forest area of this natural park you can see the stream which is spread over the natural park area among various types of trees while enjoying your walk, and you can also have the opportunity to discover the natural beauties within the park area.
HOW TO ACCESS
You can see this natural park on the way to Kemerburgaz upon entrance into the Belgrade Forest through the Bahcekoy gate. It is situated right across Irmak Natural Park. Those who want to utilize the public transport can take the bus number “42 M” in order to arrive at Bahcekoy by way of Levent Buyukdere Street or as an alternative way they can use the subway (underground) from Yenikapi to Haciosman and take bus number “42 HM” at Haciosman to arrive at Bahcekoy, and then take a taxi at Bahcekoy to get to the Natural park.
